Prices checked on 4 November 2026 across the shops Reacondi compares, in Mexican pesos. That day the cheapest refurbished Apple Watch Ultra 2 cost $7,990 and there were offers with a written warranty in 3 shops. The cheapest new one we saw is from Doto, $14,539, in the same configuration, 49 mm titanium with GPS + Cellular, so the refurbished one is $6,549 cheaper. This guide says what each shop offers, what the watch has according to Apple, and what is worth checking on a used one. For the general check on any Apple Watch, the refurbished Apple Watch guide has the full steps, and here we only repeat what changes on the Ultra 2.

The prices on 4 November

Shop Price What the listing says Warranty
Clevercel $7,990 49 mm, titanium, GPS + Cellular 12 months
XMKT $7,999 49 mm, GPS + Cellular, "XMKT Certified" "12 meses de garantía XMKT" [12-month XMKT warranty]
Doto $8,229 49 mm, titanium, "Reacondicionado" [refurbished] 6 months
Clevercel $8,490 49 mm, titanium, GPS + Cellular, "Seminuevo" [pre-owned] 12 months

The condition ("XMKT Certified", "Reacondicionado", "Seminuevo") and the warranty are each shop's words, not an inspection by us. What each one means is in the grade guide. Black Cell MX, Elektra and Coppel also have refurbished Ultra 2 watches, from $7,599, $9,249 and $13,619, but their listings show no warranty in what we read, which is why they are not in the "from" price. For a comparison with the next model, the cheapest new Ultra 3 we saw is from Coppel, $17,499.

What the Ultra 2 has according to Apple

Apple lists a titanium case 49 mm tall, 44 mm wide and 12 mm deep, weighing 61.4 g in natural titanium and 61.8 g in black. The screen is an always-on OLED with a flat sapphire crystal and up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness. It has the S9 chip, 64 GB of capacity and a customizable Action button. For battery, Apple says up to 36 hours of normal use and up to 72 hours in Low Power Mode. It is water resistant to 100 meters under ISO 22810:2010 and can be used for recreational diving to 40 meters with a compatible third-party app.

In the box, Apple puts the watch, a band and the magnetic fast charging cable with a USB-C connector. Shop listings do not always say what they include, so ask whether the watch comes with the band and the cable before you compare prices.

One Ultra 2, with cellular

On its page for identifying an Apple Watch, Apple lists the Ultra 2 only as GPS + Cellular, with a 49 mm case in natural or black titanium. There is no GPS-only version. The fact that Doto's listing does not say "Cellular" does not change the hardware, and the cellular service only works if you sign up for a plan. Apple lists AT&T and Telcel as carriers in Mexico, warns that the models are "optimizados para ser usados en el país de compra" [optimized to be used in the country of purchase] and that the service may not work with prepaid accounts.

The model number is read in the Apple Watch app on the iPhone, under My Watch, General, About, by tapping the Model Number field. For the Ultra 2, Apple lists A2986 in the table for Mexico and in the one for other countries such as Germany, and A2987 in the one for mainland China. If the watch says A2987, it is worth asking the shop which market it is from. Why the model number matters, and what happens with carriers, is in the general guide.

Which iPhone it pairs with and how far watchOS goes

Apple's compatibility table, published on 18 September 2026, asks for an iPhone XS or later for the Ultra 2. That table says iOS 17 or later, and the Ultra 2 tech specs say iOS 18 or later, so if your iPhone does not reach iOS 18 it is worth confirming before you pay. The original Ultra asks for an iPhone 8 or later, and the Ultra 3, an iPhone 11 or later.

In Apple's security releases list, watchOS 27.2 of 26 October 2026 appears for "Apple Watch Series 9 y modelos posteriores" [Apple Watch Series 9 and later], and no entry in that list names the Ultra 2. Apple already has an Ultra 3 and an Ultra 4 in its tables. If you care about getting new versions, ask the seller which watchOS version is installed and check it when you pair the watch.

Water resistance wears out

On a used Ultra 2, this is the point most worth checking, before the price. Apple says water resistance "no es una condición permanente y podría disminuir con el transcurso del tiempo" [is not a permanent condition and could diminish over time] and that the Apple Watch cannot be rechecked or resealed. Among the things Apple says to avoid are drops and impacts, soap, perfumes, solvents, insect repellent and sunscreen. A watch that was dropped may have lost part of that protection.

Since Apple says the watch cannot be rechecked or resealed, do not assume a used one keeps its original resistance. Ask the seller whether the watch had knocks or repairs. If you are buying it to swim or dive, ask in writing whether the warranty covers water failures.

The battery

On the watch, go to Settings, Battery, Condition and scroll down to the maximum capacity. Apple says the battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity after 1,000 full charge cycles, and that the watch alerts you when the capacity drops considerably. Ask the seller for a photo of that screen before paying, or read it yourself as soon as it arrives. If the capacity does not match what the shop advertised, claim it within its warranty.

Activation Lock

As with any Apple Watch, the watch must arrive unpaired from the previous owner's Apple account. Apple explains that, without access to the iPhone or the watch, the owner can erase it and remove it from their account at icloud.com/find, and that they must do it before selling or giving it away. The practical test is to pair it with your iPhone; if it asks for the password of someone else's account, Activation Lock is still active. The steps, and what to do when it fails, are in the general guide.

The warranty each shop offers

The four offers in the table go from 6 to 12 months of warranty. Doto gives 6 months, and Clevercel and XMKT give 12. The Doto one, with half the warranty, costs $239 more than the Clevercel one. Before paying, ask in writing what the warranty covers, whether it includes the battery and what happens with water resistance. The legal deadlines to return an online purchase and the articles that protect the buyer are in your rights when buying refurbished, and on the day it arrives, what to check on arrival tells you what to photograph.

If you do not need an Ultra

The refurbished Apple Watch Series 9 costs from $4,990 at Clevercel, 45 mm, "Seminuevo" with a 12-month warranty. It is a different kind of watch, with a 45 mm case against the Ultra's 49 mm and a water resistance of 50 meters instead of 100, according to Apple, but it costs $3,000 less. All watches are in watches.
